Air navigation

Within STAC and its Information systems and Air navigation Branch (STAC/SINA), the Air Navigation division was specifically created in 2005 to set up an ATM/ANS expertise centre, independent from Air Navigation Service Providers.

From a general point of view, the Air Navigation division, located in Toulouse, maintains and develops an expertise in domains such as safety analysis, interoperability and IT security of air navigation systems and equipments. Its positioning, apart from an Air Navigation Service Provider, allows the division to offer this expertise to oversight authorities and regulators, but also to any entity wishing to have an independent opinion.

The activities of the division cover a quite wide area :

Backed by its experience built at national level for DSAC, STAC is also called to intervene at European level, in the frame of European projects such as EGNOS (European Geostationary Navigation Overlay System), or FABEC (Functional Airspace Block Europe Central), and is in relation with European entities such as EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency).
