9/11 attacks has affected ICAO member states air security policies. In airport security, it includes policies of securing checked baggage control.
Therefore, in Europe as in the United States, civil aviation security regulation deeply changed and new restrictive security procedures have been set up including equipment evolution. Indeed, in order to enable an optimal efficiency of security policies, new security equipment have been developed, such as norme 3 EDS, and their integration in hold baggage screening system by airport owners have been required.
Moreover, in order to fit with airlines operational challenges, new checked baggage monitoring devices have been developed and their integration in checked baggage system has needed a real reflection of airport owners.
In order to help airport owners to rise to these different challenges, this guideline offers an updated methodology for integrated design of checked baggage screening system.
