Direction générale de l'aviation civile (DGAC)

Service technique de l'aviation civile

Constant growth of air traffic, which supports other economic sectors, requires a strict control of its environmental impacts. Therefore, the Service Technique de l’Aviation Civile (STAC, Civil Aviation Technical Center) works in the following fields :

  • Noise studies and measurements (noise certification, noise monitoring systems expertises, measurements in the vicinity of airfields, noise indicators calculation)
  • Noise modeling (land use planning mapping, modeling methodology harmonization, noise indicators studies, evolution of international standards and recommended practices)
  • Air quality (dispersion modeling, air transport contribution to climate change, participation in international working groups)
  • Airfield sites pollution (use and qualification of airplane and runway deicing fluids, use of planted filters, ground pollution)
